About the event
MACPS will have our second meeting of 2024 in the Pine Barrens in Pemberton Township, NJ. We will release more details in the coming months as we get closer to the event.
Agenda and site visits:
A stop by our guide, Jason Ksepka's, bog garden in Tom's River N.J.
- At 10 am, we will meet Jason's bog garden to kick off the day.
- Jason grows Sarracenia, Dionaea, Drosera and many non-carnivorous species.
- We will also be meeting up with Jason's co-host, Jason Austin, a fellow CP enthusiast who will join us and help with the tour.
First Site: Lacey Township, NJ
- Following the meetup in Toms River, we will continue on to Lacey Township, where there is a site with NJ's native carnivorous plants and orchids near Webbs Mill Bog
- Unfortunately, Webbs Mill has recently been affected by significant flood damage and will not be accessible this time, but we have identified a good alternative location.
Lunch & Auction, Brendan T. Byrne State Forest
- Lunch will be provided from the local Wawa. Please inform us of dietary restrictions on the RSVP page.
- We have reserved a picnic area in the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest.
- MACPS members are invited to sell their plants at the auction. Please add your plants to our auction spreadsheet. All event attendees are welcome to participate in the auction itself.

Old Ironworks at Martha, N.J.
- If we have time after the auction, we can head south from Chatsworth to the Oswego River.
- There we will be the need to drive on sand roads so having 4-wheel drive capability is recommended.
